DO YOU HAVE VERMICULITE IN YOUR ATTIC?
Vermiculite is a mineral compound that was used as insulation. Older homes are more likely to have vermiculite in the attic space. Vermiculite may or may not be contaminated with asbestos. A sample must be taken and sent to a special lab for proper identification. Consumer information regarding vermiculite can be found at this link: “Illinois EPA Statement.” Chapman Insulation follows the EPA, CDC, and ATSDR guidelines regarding Vermiculite.
Chapman Insulation specializes in vermiculite removal and can help you throughout your claim process.
WHAT IS THE “ZONOLITE ATTIC INSULATION TRUST?”
The Zonolite Attic Insulation Trust by W.R. Grace was set up to fund claims arising from residential and commercial buildings containing the Zonolite brand of Vermiculite. Zonolite was manufactured between the 1940s and 1990s and used as insulation in homes and commercial buildings. Complete information regarding the trust, and if you may be able to file a claim, can be found on the Zonolite Attic Insulation Trust website. Chapman Insulation can assist you in the claim process from start to finish, including referral to sample processing center, identification, abatement, and reinsulation.
